Babylonstoren - A Boutique Hotel

As I have mentioned before, we are moving to Victoria in the new year. We already rented a house there so that we arrive we have a place to go. The upstairs of the house has a loft style bedroom which I am super excited about but also a little worried about how I am going to decorate it. As such, I have been looking for loft style design inspiration and I came across this beauty. It is a Babylonstoren, stylish boutique hotel in South Africa which also doubles as a working farm. So guests can enjoying harvesting food from their garden  and cooking it is their stylish abode. I have to say it sounds a lot like our house in Saskatchewan. What do you say, would you spend your vacation at a place like this??

Sparkles and Sequence

Ever since I can remember I got pick out a Christmas holiday dress for the upcoming year. So when Christmas decorations start to adorn the streets and Christmas music starts to take over the airways, I start thinking about my Christmas dress. This year, I can't seem to get enough sparkles and sequence. I think these sequence dresses by Blaque Label would be perfect for the holiday season, especially for a new years eve party! I have my eye on a  silver one and although it may be a bit much for Saskatchewan, I think I will rock it anyways!!

Down the Block...

Our time in St. John's is quickly running out. I am actually having a hard time believing that in less than 3 weeks we will be gone from here forever. Over the short time that we have been here, I have fallen in love with the city, the culture, the amazing scenery on the Island and most of all, we have met some amazing friends which I will be really sad to leave. But I know that they will be our friends for a lifetime and we will definitely see them again. 

As I said before, I had very little space to pack for my trip out here so I am feeling a bit low on my clothing choices, especially necklaces of which I didn't bring any. So although I would have loved to wear a fabulous necklace with this outfit...it is what it is - plain and classic.

DIY Barn Yard Headboard

I first saw this DIY ove at Design Sponge and I immedielty fell in love. I have actually been searching for a headboard to buy for our spare bedroom and I couldn't have imagined anything more perfect than this! Plus, I think it would be a super fun project!! iphone photo roundup

I have been taking a lot of photos on my iphone lately and I like the idea of having a iphone photo roundup at the end of the week. So here goes. This weekend we went to our friends cottage which sits on a cliff that over looks the ocean. We had the most amazing time and they were the most gracious hosts. 

I loved the display above their fireplace.

They made us the most delicious eggs benedict for breaky!

We went for a hike by the sea in a town called Flatrock and the wind was crazy cold!!

And the waves were crazy strong!

But the view was amazing!

Oh yah, we also saw some massive boulders!

Happy 75th CBC!!

I just wanted to do a quick shout out to CBC as they turned 75 years old this week. And in this time when public radio is being threatened by closure, it is important to recognize the accomplishments that CBC has made and the contributions they continue to make to the enrich Canadian culture. Happy Birthday CBC!!

Urban Decay Cheek Tint

I have the most sensitive skin ever, which means that I have a hard time finding make-up that won't burn my eyes and make me break out!! Since there are very little online information about blush for sensitive skin, I thought I would share my new found knowledge on blush for sensitive skin. 

Urban Decay's Afterglow Glide on Cheek Tint, which I purchased Quickie, looks amazing and won't make me break out. It is a cream blush which works like a stain. All you have to do is dab a little on the apples of your cheeks with your fingers and voila...your cheeks will be left with a natural glow!! And because it is a cream, you can apply multiple layers for a brighter look or even blend it with other colors to created depth to your look. And the best part is, at least for me, is that it doesn't bother my skin which I think may be due to the lack of shine/sparkles in the blush! Either way it is definitely a winner in my books!

Autumn Leaves

Despite the odd storm here and there, the fall weather out here on the East coast of Canada has been amazing so far. And since we are only out here until the middle of December, we are trying to take advantage of the time we have left out here. We stopped to take these photos while on our way to brunch downtown at Blue on Water, which was delicious by the way. To take the chill off, we brought along some warm chai tea to keep us toasty warm on our walk!! Hope you are enjoying fall as much as I am!!

I am totally smitten with the new line Pendleton: The Portland Collection. Pendleton which is a century old north west company has teamed up with three portland based designers to create this brand new line. Inspired by the classic style of Pendleton's 'perennial pleated skirts, wool plaids and western wear', the team of young and modern designers have created a sophisticated and urban line with a twist of functionality.
