Autumn Leaves

Despite the odd storm here and there, the fall weather out here on the East coast of Canada has been amazing so far. And since we are only out here until the middle of December, we are trying to take advantage of the time we have left out here. We stopped to take these photos while on our way to brunch downtown at Blue on Water, which was delicious by the way. To take the chill off, we brought along some warm chai tea to keep us toasty warm on our walk!! Hope you are enjoying fall as much as I am!!

Shades of black and grey...

I must start by apologizing for the lack of outfit posts lately but I was busy getting settled in to St. John's living. In addition, I have been feeling a bit low on my outfit choices.  It is not that I do not own many clothes, I do, however, I just did not bring that many of them with me to St.John's. I was only able to bring two suitcases with me, and one of those was full of housewares. As a result I kinda feel like I am doing the 30 for 30 challenge, only it is not by choice!! So, to refresh my wardrobe I picked up this cute little number from Joe Fresh! Paired with a chambray shirt, I think it is the perfect outfit fall outfit!!

Monday Monday...........

It's Monday again, which means it is time for me to start beekeeping in Saskatchewan. After a long winter of sitting in front of my computer and working on my thesis, it feels so nice to be outside, being active for the entire day. The combination of some of the most fresh air in the world and exercise you get from the actual bee keeping make you absolutely amazing. I always say that beekeeping is one of the best workout/weight loss programs out there.

Even though I am now in Saskatchewan, my wonderful photographer took these photos in Newfoundland before I left. And I although I already posted pics of this sweater (here), I have been enjoying it so much that I thought I would share it with you again. This time I layered it over a Joe Fresh maxi dress which was a super easy look and perfect for those cool and windy Newfoundland days.

Fashion in the Forest

Since we have arrived in St. John's, the local people have been telling us that there is no Spring in Newfoundland. Instead, winter stays until summer arrives. However, last Thursday (Dominic's B-day), we were lucky enough to get a Spring day which we took advantage of by hanging out at the beach. I wore my new pleated midi skirt that I am absolultey smitten with.

When I ordered this skirt from Topshop, I had planned on wearing it with this Joe Fresh shirt. But when I threw the outfit on, just before I ran out the door, something just did not look right. In theory, this outfit should look great, I love both the shirt and the skirt but there is something, I am not sure what it is exactly, that just doesn't jive with me. But not to worry, I have lots of great plans for this skirt...... Does that ever happen to you??

Dominic snapped a photo of me having a rock bath (the pebbles were so warm from the sun).

This is me trying not to fall in the water. Such a great shot that I had to post it!

My Little Pony

Some friends we have just recently met, invited us to their sea side home for dinner last night. They were  all kinds of hospitable and made us the most delicious pizza ever!! There is nothing better than some good home-made pizza, a glass of wine and good company!!
They live in a fantastic bright yellow house, which is full of character and over looks the Atlantic ocean. Right beside the house was a cute little barn and two adorable Newfoundland ponies. It was so nice to get out of the city and hang out with the ponies. Isn't he just the cutest. It was almost as if he was posing for this photo - such a photogenic little guy!! Thanks again for having us over!!

Have the loveliest of weekends,

T-Post - The World's First Wearable Magazine!

Have you ever heard of T-Post? It is the world's first news source that is printed on cotton!! Here's how it works. Every six months the company takes a few of the top headlines from around the world, then they get an artist to draw a corresponding image to match the news article. The news article is then printed on the inside of the Tee and the artist rendition is printed on the outside of the tee. When you subscribe, they mail you a brand new t-shirt every six weeks.

I have been in love with the idea since I first heard about it!! As such, I have been gifting subscriptions every chance I get. With the last subscription I gifted, I got a free t-shirt of my very own (we actually ordered it is size Large for Dominic but it came in size small, so I guess it is mine). So, this is the maiden voyage of the T-Post shirt - definitely a conversation piece!!

Wind Wind Go Away, Come Again Another Day.....

There is the craziest of crazy storms here in St.John's today with  gale force winds and icy cold snow!! And I can't help but think about the wonderful winter we had down South last year. It has been exactly one year since I was on this beautiful beach in Mexico. And I have been day dreaming about the hot sand on my feet, the warmth of the sun on my shoulders and the warm ocean breeze.

Stay Warm,

Navy Seal!!

Although the snow keeps falling, the sun is getting warmer and it is starting to feel like spring!!! Although it is our first winter here in St.John's, we have heard that the snow will entirely gone by March - which is only a few weeks away!!

I was so inspired by the beautiful french pouf that I posted about yesterday, that I thought I would wear my very own pouf from h&m. I think it looks lovely worn with this newly purchased shirt from Joe Fresh which was a steal of a deal at $10.00. I suggest that everybody go down to their neighborhood Joe Fresh and buy at least one shirt, as they come in a variety of colors. For only  $10.00, you can add a super versatile piece to your wardrobe - a definite must!!

Check out our little, rather big seal friend, just chillin' out on some ice in the middle of St. John's!! I think this seal is definitely a city girl!!

Make sure to check out my give-away!! There are only a few days left to enter your name into the draw!!

Chocolate Love

Since moving to St.John's we have been hearing a lot about this cute little, European Deli/Bakery called Manna European Bakery. So today, we finally checked it out and were pleasantly surprised with a great selection of Euro-style bread!!

Luckily for me, they also sold these delicious, love inspired Belgian chocolates. We bought them for our dessert tonight but I think they would make the perfect Valentines gift for the one you love!

On Top Of The World

Without sounding too much like a travel advertisement, I must say that St.John's and Newfoundland in general, is one of the must see destinations in Canada. With a bit of an island vibe, the province is loaded with natural beauty and cultural charm. My favorite thing about the people is that everybody ends their sentence with dear or darling. For example, "What can I get for you dear?" or "Here you go darling"!! I mean how adorable is that?

These pictures were taken at Signal Hill, which over looks the downtown harbour area (we also live down there). It is a historical army base and was the reception point for the first transatlantic wireless signal in 1901. Although today, it seems that the hill has become a popular spot for watch the sunset.

This 'darling' tutu ballerina skirt from Designers Remix Collection was a Christmas gift from Dominic. You may remember it from this post a few months back to which I declared my love to it. I guess this whole blog thing is a good thing because I never even asked for it for Christmas and Dominic got it for me anyways - what an amazing husband!! I don't think I could have received anything better for Christmas!!

Hot Soup on a Cool Winters Day!!

The damp and dreary weather today is making me feel like a steaming hot bowl of soup. Since there is no Thai restaurant in town, Dominic's famous Thai Noodle Soup is on the menu!! Wish you could join us!!
