Sunday Night Dinner!!

It is a tradition in Dominic's family to have a Sunday Night Dinner in which the entire family gets together for an amazing meal!! However, since Dominic and I are only sporadically living in the same city as his family, we have started our own tradition of having Sunday night dinner. Tonight however was an extra special Sunday dinner as it was our first Dinner in our new home.

We are so excited to be finally be living in our house, especially because we have been doing renovations for over two months and we spent the entire weekend renovating with our family!! Thanks to them we got a ton of work done on the house and we are finally able to live in it!! The house is really starting to come together, the only thing is that we are sans kitchen. But we are making the best of it and having tons of fun being in our first home!! I will be sure to post some more pics when the house is picture worthy!!

Just a few pics of the Sunday Dinner Dominic made for me!!

Hope you had a lovely weekend!!

Wildflowers

Ok, so I know this post is a bit late as I went to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers last week, but better late than never. I was so excited to see this concert because a) I was in dire need of seeing some people after being out in the country for almost two months and b) I love Tom Petty. In anticipation of Tom playing my favorite song, Wildflowers, I thought I couldn't wear anything else except for my newly acquired floral dress from my wonderful mother in law. However, I am sad to report that wearing the dress didn't inspire Tom to play the song, but I have to say that the rest of the concert was amazing.

Just a side note, I want to say thanks again to my mother-in-law for bringing me this chic dress from Topshop in England. It not only fits perfectly but it seems to look better every time I wear it as my tan is getting darker. I am so lucky to have acquired such a stylish mother -in-law!!

Ruby Boutique

I came across this great designer from New Zealand. Illustrated by their wonderful name, the line is trendy, modern and seems to emanate 'woman'. They offer an ultra feminine look with lot of pinks, tons of ruffles, and shear materials. A great contrast from the masculine look that we have been seeing. Plus I love how they have paired knee high socks with almost everything - a simple trick that can update any outfit!!

Here is a quick glance from their current line but you can shop online here

Jungle Drum

I am abslutley in LOVE with this song by Amelian Torrinni. She is an indie artist from Iceland but her father is Italy - hence the Italian name.  Be sure to check out the entire alubum - it is amazing!!

Just a side note, if you ever get a chance to visit Iceland, be sure to take up the opportunity. Despite the fact that there are just over 300,000 inhabitants, the country is rich with history, culture and natural wonders such as the Blue Lagoon (which is one of my favorite places in the world)!! Plus they have Icelandic Horses which have a special gait unique to Iceland. Wouldn't it be wonderful to take a horseback riding trip in Iceland!!! And if that's not enough there night life is amazing. I can't wait to go back there - hopefully some day soon!!

Hope your having a wonderful weekend,
Karen

My Sisters Closet

So first I have to start off by giving props to my brother - in-law - TG - as it is his car that I used for these pictures. Second, I have to say thanks to my sister for letting me borrow her newly purchased, never before worn Frye boots. Almost as soon as slipped them onto me feet, I fell in love. So much so, that I might even have to purchase my very own pair - but in black!!

We had a lovely weekend, seeing as the weather has finally warmed up!! On Sunday we spent the entire day at the lake on the boat soaking up the sun as I think I was in need of some major vitamin D. This is the outfit that I wore to the lake - however I think it was completely over-dressed for a small Saskatchewan lake. But, as I always say, it doesn't matter what people think, you should wear what you like!

Adeline Adeline Bicycles

I am sure that by now, most of my readers have figured out that I have a love for beautiful bikes. I came across another great line of bikes called Adeline Adeline which, as their slogan suggests, "is a very nice bike shop." I can just picture myself riding down the streets of Paris on this bike - maybe one day!!

Accessorize to the Max-I!!!

The Maxi dress has got alot of attention this season. I think it is a great Canadian summer dress as the sleeveless top will keep you cool in the hot afternoon sun and the long length accompanied with a jean jacket or white blazer (if I had one) will keep you warm and cozy on the cool summer nights. Plus it looks great on everybody as it elongates the body and easily gives a nice shape with a simple belt. I think this will be one my main summer looks!!

Plus, the mono-color dress makes lots of room accessories. I had so much fun adding accessories to this outfit as I have recently received lots of amazing gifted accessories from my wonderful family who have been on vacation. The birdcage earrings are from my brother and sister-in-law's trip to Thailand and the new pink bangle is from my mother-in-law's trip to the UK. So nice to have so many people think of me - thanks again!!

It's A Digital World

After four industrious years of university, Dominic has finally convocated from his first degree and with honors. Although he sailed through the degree with ease, it is an accomplishment that he should be very proud of - not everyone has the opportunity or the access to this world class education that has the power to change your life!!! I am sure that he will have a successful career in whatever he chooses to do!!

Dominic in his Cap and Gown

And real Champagne from Champagne to celebrate!!

Although the convocation ceremony was at 9:00am, I thought of it as a great occasion to wear a nice dress!! I have been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear this dress that I bought a while ago!! I am just glad I found the occasion before the digital trend is over!!
Although the cut of the dress is really simple, the digital abstract print really makes it!!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Karen
